NIC
card (Network Interface Card, pronounced “nick”) is the card that physically
makes the connection between the computer and the network cable. These cards
and are available in 10, 100, and 1000 Mbps configurations. Commonly using
RJ-45 connectors to connect to your modem or switch, a NIC card is a must to
connect to a network or any form of high speed internet service.
